Exploration and experimentation is the key to World of Cheese HD. This is a puzzler that reflects a somewhat similar experience as older point ’n click games but embraces touch controls as well as having the solution for each puzzle be shockingly logical…for the most part.

Each level consists of one puzzle (sometimes two) that needs to be solved which in return will reveal a piece of cheese for you, a cheese-craving mouse, to eat. The puzzles display a scene with an unknown objective and it’s up to you to figure it out. For example one level will place you in a garage with a car missing a tire. If you notice that there’s a pile of tires then an “aha!” moment should kick in. Now you have to figure out how to fix up the car and move it out of the way to reveal a piece of cheese.

While some puzzles had me randomly tapping on the screen to find interactive objects, most of the time it’s clear. And perhaps more noteworthy is that the puzzles follow a logical structure that teaches kids the order of tasks. Having said that, as an adult I found the puzzles entertaining and even a bit challenging. Not challenging where you’ll find yourself stumped, but rather well thought out puzzles that don’t have a glaringly obvious answer.

The Bottom Line: The puzzles in World of Cheese HD are creative and embrace logical thinking.
