Sometimes games challenge our skills, our puzzle logic, and once in awhile they channel our creativity. After spending some time with Topia, it’s wonderfully clear that it falls into the latter.
With Topia the only goal is to create your own world. What you create and what you do is absolutely up to you. This is essentially a artistic app in the sense that you use tools to transform the world(s) into your own liking. Want to create hills or mountains? Just grab one of the tools and start drawing and you’ll instantly see new life created at your finger tips. Want to create lakes or have critters inhabit your world? Open up the tool bar and start drawing and your world is becoming yours. While I’m highlighting what I love about Topia, I must again point out that there is no specific goal to achieve. This might come across as a little boring to some, but Topia brings intuitive touch controls and fantastic graphics that create a mediative-like experience that focuses on you being creative.
The Bottom Line: 8/10 (Great)
While I know Topia won’t be for everyone, I highly recommend that you give it a try, but be careful you just might fall in love with it as much as I have.
