Don’t ask me to validate the statistics but I’m secure in the correctness of the sweeping statement I’m about to declare…everyone loves movies. And more likely than not we all have a video collection of some sort whether it be VHS, DVDs, Blue-ray, a digital copy, or… If you’re like me, your collection is in the hundreds and we need help keeping track of them.

Fortunately this is what My Movie Collection by GoToMyCollection is here for. Importing a small chunk of my collection was effortless as well as shockingly quick using the barcode input found in My Movie Collection. To use this feature all you need to do is focus your iPhone camera onto the barcode and within a few seconds every field obtaining to the movie will be filled out. I was literally able to import a handful of movies per minute hassle-free and it was fun being reminded of what movies I own. Putting fun aside, I was astonished that at least 90% of my DVDs were found using this method. That’s passing with flying colors in my book. For the more obscure titles that couldn’t be found via barcode, they could still be inserted by searching manually (which is still rather quick).

Once I imported a chunk of movies (if you need more space you can purchase an unlimited amount for $2.99) the fun of seeing my collection on my iPhone had begun. MyMovieCollection allows you to filter your movie collection through genres, MPAA, as well as a few other filter options if you need help choosing or finding a movie to watch. There’s even more great features such as being able to watch a trailer for each movie and even a IMDB-like feature that lists directors and cast members that you can click on to obtain more information. And if you’re like me and lending movies constantly and forgetting who you gave a movie to, My Movie Collection allows you to keep track of those as well.

The Bottom Line: 9/10 (Super!)

My Movie Collection is busting at the seams with features while maintaining a very user friendly UI with movie input and navigation.
