With summer at an end and autumn knocking at our doors we were able to somewhat sit back and take a deep breath as the massive amount of fantastic games that graced us these past months slowed down a bit. While September may not have had the insane surge of past months(except for this past week!), every game on this list is deserving of this list as well as on your iPhone .
Game of the Month
Rayman Jungle Run
Not since Mirror’s Edge have we had such an amazing time with an iOS platformer as we did with Rayman Jungle Run. Rayman Jungle Run takes the charming and quirky graphics of what we expect from a Rayman title and brings gameplay that still to this day has us trying to master every level. Even if iPhone/iPad platformers have turned you off in the past, Rayman Jungle Run takes a innovative approach that proves that there is a great platformer with touch controls.
Runner Up
Apocalypse Max
I used to love zombie games but after being overly saturated with the undead, my only wish was that this genre would be put decapitated and hacked to gory bits. However, after spending a smidge of time with Apocalypse Max, my love for zombies was re-risen and embraced possibly the best side scroller-shooter yet on the AppStore.
App of the Month
ArtStudio for iPad
On occasion we include an “App of the Month” in this list and it was immediately apparent that ArtStudio for iPad would be one. ArtStudio for iPad brings the great brushes that we’re accustomed to with SketchBook Pro and includes photo editing tools that surpass Adobe’s Photoshop Touch. If you’ve been wanting a Photoshop-like experience on the go–this it it.
