From all the way back to my first classic iPod (4th gen) I’ve had a blast playing quiz games. This was a great way to test my knowledge, quickly cycle thru tracks, as well as kill some time. Now on the iPhone there’s plenty of apps that do this but Song Guru – Music Quiz takes a different approach than one I’ve experienced before.

Now instead of playing snippets of my own music, Song Guru – Music Quiz taps into the iTunes music store and greatly expands the amount of music to be tested with. There’s a vast amount of possibilities for each quiz and you’ll be put to the test since you may not  be overly familiar with many of the songs or perhaps you’ll hear something for the first time. Song Guru – Music Quiz is easily one of the more entertaining music apps that I’ve come across. Best of all is that it separates the songs into genres  so  if you’re not a Country Music fan you won’t have any popping up.

The other part of its charm…and fun is sampling new songs for the first time or hearing something that you might have forgotten about. Song Guru – Music Quiz allows you to easily purchase a song if you find something that you want to add to your library.

The Bottom Line: 7.5/10 (Good)

Song Guru – Music Quiz makes a rather challenging yet entertaining music quiz app by pulling its content right from the iTunes store.
