If there’s a rugrat in your family there’s a good chance that you’ve checked out one of the many Cartoony “Pet Sims” for your iOS Device. Today we take a look at Talking Duke Dog 2 that combines this with a bit of potty humor.

Pet sim apps like Talking Duke Dog 2 generally fall into one of two categories, ones that have so much variety that it seems like you’re always discovering something new, and the other is lacking in so much content that you’re left with the query “That’s it”? Unfortunately Talking Duke Dog 2 falls into the second category. There’s very little interactivity with your pup, Duke, and making things worse is that the fluidity between situations is severally lacking. Sure there’s a handful of outfits that you can unlock for him and purchase interaction with a cat but let me assure you that the time that it takes to unlock these  is not worth your while.

Part of the charm of these apps is talking to and hearing the pet, in this case Duke, repeats what you say in a funny voice. Sadly this isn’t done well either. No matter how clearly you speak, words will always be cut off and the lip synching would be better if they didn’t even include it.

The Bottom Line: 3/10 (Bad)

If you want an app like this we recommend to skip this one and go elsewhere.
