I’ve always been one to love slot machines but rarely do I ever feed this love. The last time I remember pulling a slot machine lever was in Italy where I walked away with over 1,000 lira (the word “lira” definitely ages this story) and couldn’t have been more pleased. Years later I find a slot machine app, SlotSpot on my iPad, I once again sit down in front of a slot machine and watch my virtual money rise and fall.

On the surface SlotSpot is exactly as it appears to be: a slot machine app on your iOS device. There’s 12 beautiful machines. These machines go past your simple match-3 cherries of slot machines and instead become a bit more complex  and able to unlock up to 24 Paylines which increases your chances of winning.

SlotSpot is a fine slot machine in itself but that’s not the whole enchilada…not by a long-shot. First off is that it uses a system that levels up slowly over time by combining your winnings as you play a game. It’s this leveling up that will be used to unlock one of the 12 slot machines (all but one is unlocked from the get-go). There’s also a matching mini-game to trigger that’ll give you the ability to win even more money. Last, but surely not least are the addictive missions. Oh, just to be clear SlotSpot doesn’t have you gambling for real money (although you can throw down real money if you so desire) instead it’s all virtual money. SlotSpot continues to give you plenty of free coins throughout the day so you don’t actually have to spend a dime if you don’t want to.

Since I started this review with a small story I will finish with the answer that people have asked…how did I win so much? Well, Grasshopper, I was sitting at a really complicated Slot Machine that was written in ITalian (I can’t read a word of Italian) and I had no idea that I was racking up so much. When I stopped and collected my earnings a lot of lira came pouring out…sometimes being ignorant can pay off!

With SlotSpot’s great graphics, leveling up system, and missions it is easily recommendable for any slot machine jockey out there.
