One if the great things about the iPhone is the plethora of touch gameplay schemes available. One such game is Beat the Window, its core gameplay is all about swiping your fingers across the screen.
In Beat the Window, you’re placed in a very OCD country where one of their favorite pass-times is a competition focused on cleaning windows as fast as possible. In each competition you’re given a series of filthy windows to clean by swiping your finger over the mess until its all gone (the ironic portion of this is that you’re iPhone will get smudgier with your oily finger swipes!). This becomes much more challenging when you realize that not only do you have to do this as fast as possible, but if you touch the window sill you have to restart that window which will surely mean that you won’t beat the time. However if you beat the reigning champion, Mr. Doo, then you’ll progress to the next portion of the championship.
With each stage comes more windows as well as their complexity. Now instead of normal shaped windows, you’ll be cleaning windows of different odd shapes and sizes. Trust me this becomes more challenging than you may think. Now here’s the downside about progressing: it’s not fun. Think about it, you’re swiping your finger across the screen over and over. While this type of skill game may be fun for some, it’s clearly not for me.
The Bottom Line: 6/10 (Fair)
Beat the Window is an overall decent casual skill game with a challenge. Unfortunately the challenge that it brings isn’t that much fun. Heck, it gives you a handful of free levels so it’s worth a download so check it out for yourself.
