Yellow the goldfish and his pesky tween caretaker Mathilda have already embraced the iTunes AppStore with the ultra cute physics puzzler Saving Yellow that had you stretching Yellow and trying to land the abused goldfish into the bowl (anyone call PETA yet?). Now Yellow and Mathilda return once again but this time in an endless runner, Chasing Yellow.
Chasing Yellow, has you, Yellow, escape from your fishbowl and make it into the river where you’ll have to guide the fish down the stream by tilting your iPhone (or other iOS device). On the journey you’ll need to swim past logs, stumps, piranhas, and even Mathilda. But swimming left or right isn’t always enough and in this case you’ll need to swipe up to jump over obstacles as well as down to swim…well, down. While this control scheme works rather well, it’s not the first time that we’ve come across this sort of gameplay which unfortunately makes aiding Yellow in his escape seem like we’ve done it so many more times (but with a different avatar) before.
Although Chasing Yellow feels like countless other endless runners out there, it at least includes power-ups as well as level goals that so many other games of this nature are missing. For a younger audience, or someone new to gaming, the goals will be achievable with little frustration (hopefully).
The Bottom Line: 7/10 (Good)
Chasing Yellow is a really cute endless runner that doesn’t bring enough to elevate it from great endless runners (Cuddle Bears & Jetpack Joyride–you saw that one coming). With that said, If you have a young gamer on your hands and want something with minimal violence then this is perfect

played it, it’s just another ‘temple run’ with redundant contents and less fun.
