It’s easy to sum up Bunny Run if you’ve ever played Konami’s Frogger or an endless runner. Combine these two ideas and you’ve got Bunny Run. Now that I’ve cheated with my description (man I love cheating!), let’s delve in and see what makes Bunny Run different.
Where the goal of Frogger is to navigate the frog from point “A” to point “B” without getting run over or drowning, so is the case with Bunny Run, except this time around swap out that slimy frog with an adorable squeezable bunny. This is where the similarities halt. The endless runner aspect is that in Bunny Run…the bunny runs and runs and runs…endlessly, dodging traffic as far as he can. Until SPLAT!
While Bunny Run borrows some main ideas from these games, it’s also its own game with three cute level layout choices down roads and through rivers. These various levels stave off the monotony. Tack on some interesting power-ups and the addictiveness comes into play.
You know how I normally save ‘worst for last’ in my reviews, this time I held back the best and that’s the controls. Controlling your fluffy lil’ bunny is all done by tapping a new location on the screen which creates fluid responsive gameplay easy to play on the go.
The Bottom Line: 8.0 (Great)
Bunny Run successfully creates a new Frogger-like experience with fantastic controls.
