Last month we took a look at Wenjoy Technology Inc’s file sharing app, shake2u, that allowed iOS users to quickly and securely share files with one another. This month we take a look at another of their fantastic apps, OrganiDoc HD, that helps fill the limitations of the iPad.
Like shake2u, OrganiDoc HD is all about making tasks simple as well as giving you a handful of extra features. Creating and sorting folders can be done on the fly with its easy to understand user interface (UI) that allows you to relocate, create and rename files with ease. This alone makes OrganiDoc HD easily one of the best, user friendly file management apps that we’ve gotten our hands on period.
Besides allowing almost anyone to be able to dive in and mange their files with its slick interface, OrganiDoc HD does everything that is expected from a file manager plus a bit more. Almost every type of file that I threw at it could be opened within the app (the only files that I came across that it could not open were Adobe files–but you can still store these files). The included flexibility to open up and quickly view files (yes even movie and audio files) allows you to do all your file managing without the need to open up another app (yeah…there’s some file managers that don’t include this nifty and useful feature). Pushing this further is that .zip files can be unzipped and any type of docs, videos, and those pictures of you and your cat dressed up as Batman and Robin can be made secure via password protection to make sure that no one opens up files that they shouldn’t.
Continuing my infomercial sounding article (heck…what can I say it’s a great app!), uploading files is a breeze with so many download options. The easy but very useful method of connecting it to your computer and transferring it through iTunes is there (always my favorite option) as well as other helpful options. Most notably is being able to sync through the cloud so yes to GoogleDocs, DropBox, and the list goes on. With OrganiDoc HD providing numerous ways to download, fluid interface, and the ability to quickly view most types of files makes this a must have for everyone.
The Bottom Line: 9.0
OrganiDoc HD allows you to turn your iPad into a file manager as well as being able to sort and view files effortlessly.
