Since the release of the iPad we’ve seen entertainment merging in varied and interesting ways. Murder Detective: Hampton Bridge Murder offers interactive novels.
“Choose your own adventure” may be the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term interactive murder but this is not exactly what Murder Detective is all about. Instead it’s a novel that unravels a mysterious murder on the Hampton River while following the conversations between two detectives while visually showing you all the locations they travel to. However, you’re not just a voyeur there’s a little bit more interactivity and choices you can make. Wait a minute! isn’t that a choose your own adventure?! Nah, there’s only a limited amount of choices and no matter your choice the story’s plot is very linear. In other words, my decisions didn’t seem to really make a difference.
So if Murder Detective doesn’t have that much interactivity, then who is this for? If you’re a CSI fanatic (or something similar of that nature) you’ll surely love reading this crime story with great visuals. So if you go into Murder Detective more as a short novel (I guess you could call it a novella) and not so much for the interactivity, there’s a good chance you’ll get swept into the story.

Murder Detective is an interesting crime story that incorporates great visuals.
